We are currently looking to fill the following editorial positions.
The Fashion Editor is responsible for pitching, curating and editing monthly content for the fashion category in the Mimp Digital Journal. They will collaborate with the rest of the team to coordinate and produce photo shoots. This candidate will have an interest and knowledge in fashion and style ranging from Couture to Instagram and will keep the rest of the team updated on the latest news/trending topics in their category that could relate to the magazine. They will also attend (virtual) events on behalf of the magazine.
The Beauty Editor is responsible for pitching, curating, assigning and editing monthly content for the BEAUTY category in the Mimp Digital Journal. The Beauty Editor will work with the team to coordinate partnerships, listicles, editorials and interviews with leading brands and experts to ensure all work is both fun and informative. The ideal candidate is someone with some knowledge of, and interest in, the beauty industry, with a rotating shelf of products, and is someone who isn’t afraid to be a public face and representative of our team. They will help to build Mimp as a platform that readers can look to for honest beauty tips, inclusive trends and bold inspiration.
The Culture Editor is responsible for pitching, curating, assigning and editing monthly content for the ARTS & CULTURE category in the Mimp Digital Journal. The Arts and Culture category covers the world of entertainment such as books, movies, music, food and more. The Culture Editor will collaborate with the editorial team to coordinate interviews and partnerships with artists and brands. The ideal candidate has an interest in music, books and/or film and is always up to date with the latest news and releases.
Social Media Manager
The Social Media Manager is responsible for working with the editorial team to curate and coordinate social media calendars and execute social media strategy (for Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter). They will assist with the coordination and production of social media-based events and content. The manager will engage with our community by responding to comments and questions as well as researching opportunities and building relationships with artists and brands. The ideal candidate has an eye for design and aesthetic as well as an interest in social media analytics.
Contributing Writers & Artists
Contributing writers will be available to write 1-2 pieces per month or according to their availability. We are always looking for written and creative pitches. If you are interested in being added to our roster of writers/artists to be assigned pieces, apply below.
As a member of our editorial team, you should be:
A strong communicator (especially when communicating your needs to the team)
An experienced writer and editor
A strong knowledge of social media
Self-motivated, organized and able to meet deadlines
Passionate about womxn’s issues and human rights
Be proficient in google docs
A strong team player and collaborator
An interest in magazines and books
All positions on our editorial team are volunteer-based and can also be put toward an internship credit for college students. We work on this magazine from a place of passion and as an outlet for creativity. We understand that not everyone has the time or ability to contribute on a volunteer basis. These roles have the potential to become paid in the future as the magazine grows!
