JULY: Kingdom Of Youth
Inspired by our rebellion against growing up, this theme calls on us to remember when summer was less complicated and all we wanted to do was eat creamsicles and play at the waterpark. Moonrise Kingdom, My Girl and peter pan. Treehouses and lemonade stands and garage sales. Falling asleep during a car ride to the sound of wind through the open sunroof. Picnics by the beach with too much sunblock and not enough cold drinks. Sticky kisses, long, unbrushed hair and overexposed photographs in swimsuits you fell in love with in the moment. Write what you love and what you hate about July. Write for the air that hugs you close, write for the adventures that will fall through and for that feeling of freedom when it's 10pm and the sun has yet to set.
This month's cover was painted by the lovely Isis Petit. You can see more of her work at isispetit.tumblr.com and follow her on instagram @pixiearts
