An Impossible but Probable Summer
Thank the holy baby jesus and buddah and Allah and Dave Franco it is Friday!
My music taste is constantly changing but I have recently developed an obsession for 60's and 70's hits after watching (okay, devouring) the 1995 film, Now and Then (Check out this month's cover shoot that it inspired). The movie follows four life long friends back to their memories of the summer of 1970 where (in my opinion) they created the definition of the best summer ever!
The movie was adventurous and I wish I could relive my tween years in that era. The aestetic of the film made me feel a certain way along with the soundtrack. Listening to these songs feel like home for lack of a better description of my inner workings. I remembered that same feeling while I watched other movies based in similar time periods and began collecting music born in and around those eras. I made CD's for my friends who really enjoyed it (or told me they did to shut me up) and so I thought I would share it with the rest of the world. It has been keeping me going through the summer so far and I'm always adding new songs.
I can't express my love for this playlist. All I need is a tree house and an endless summer and my life would be complete.
