I am one of those Pinterest- crazy, cleanse-trying girls who will put virtually anything in a blender.
When it comes to healthy eating I may not be the most consistent person… I mean I go from trying a juice cleanse one day to trying to make vegan desserts the next. I am constantly looking for a way to feel good and not be a grouchy teen snacking on carrots and celery In hopes of looking my best. I have found one recipe that I go by and transform it to suit every meal of the day. I am talking about oatmeal people. Not plain old fashion porridge, I’m talking peanut butter and cocoa or honey cinnamon apple. Over my health phases I’ve become a tad bit of an oatmeal enthusiast. The possibilities are endless and in reality you can add just about anything to hot oats and have it taste good. So here I will lay down some simple oatmeal combos that I swear by:
Peanut butter & cocoa
What you will need:
½ cup of instant oats
Natural peanut butter
Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbs of chia seeds
1 tbs of ground flax meal
How to:After you pour a sufficient amount of boiling water into your oats, let them sit and absorb. Once they are fluffy, add the cocoa powder and mix well into the oats, then continue to do the same with your peanut butter. Next add the chia seeds and let them sit for about 2 minutes, just to allow them to puff up and expand. Then mix in your flax meal for texture, then slice your banana and mix it into the oatmeal. After you’re done with one of the easiest recipes known to man you can top your bowl with fresh fruit or granola.
